It's Never Too Early! CHRISTMAS CRAFT PROJECT: ADVENT CALENDAR
Christmas Craft Project: Advent Calendar by visualheart
I know what you’re thinking. It’s barely even Fall yet,
why are you doing Christmas crafts?? Well every year
I think of things I wish I had made for Christmas, but
at that point it was far too late, so I thought i’d get a
jump on things and get crafty on rainy days. I’ve
always wanted an advent calendar that I could reuse
every year, so I used an idea I found online and added
a picture frame and fancy numbers to it.
Supplies needed:
- A thrift store frame or discount frame from a home store
- Spray paint in gloss white
- Acrylic paints in colours of your choice (I used red and white)
- Wooden clothes pegs
- Mod podge or white glue
- Printed numbers or your can paint them by hand

I created a template using Adobe Illustrator, measured the size of the card and filled in the type within. Once printed on card stock, I cut out each square by hand. I glued them to the cards using a thin layer of basic mod-podge, but you could also use rubber cement for a faster drying time.
A few people have been asking if I hand wrote the sayings. I’ve decided to provide a link to the font I used, it’s called Mari & David
DIY ANIMAL CAKE TOPPER
This is probably the most affordable and fun cake topper i’ve done ever.
1. Find your favourite plastic animals at the dollar store
2. Drill holes in their belly area just deep enough for a wooden skewer.
I didn’t have a power drill handy so I just used players and a screw.

3. Attach bamboo skewers, they should fit in just find, no need for glue.
4. Spray them your favourite colour, preferably one that matches your party theme.
Tip:
I find that spray painting things in a small apartment is nearly impossible, but if you place your item in a box and spray into it, you’ll limit the amount of over spray.
